Barry Lee Markin, age 72, of Bluffton, passed away on December 31, 2024, surrounded by his family at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Dorothy (Buckles) Markin.
Barry was a 1970 graduate from Blackford High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force right after graduation. After leaving the military, he became a deputy for Blackford County Sheriff’s Department and later a police officer for Hartford City. After moving to Fort Wayne, he was a police officer for IPFW until he retired.
Barry enjoyed watching football and WWE wrestling. He also loved collecting silver coins and antiquing.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Melissa Lozoya (husband, Juan); grandchildren, Nathan Lozoya and Nicholas Lozoya; a special grand dog, Kip and his brother, Doug Markin (wife, Kuo Fange).
Per his request, no funeral services will be held.
