Mary Anne (Barbier) Melvin

Mary Anne Melvin, age 83, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Napoleonville, Louisiana, passed away of Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.  Mrs. Melvin was born on December 3, 1933 in Napoleonville, Louisiana to the late Leo A. and Laura (Delaune) Barbier.  She graduated from Assumption Parish High School in Napoleonville. On September 19, 1970, Mary married Johnny R. Melvin at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  She was a homemaker and a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Fort Wayne.  She loved to partake in church activities, fishing, and gardening.  
Survivors include:
Son, Harold (Monti) Theriot of Plantation Florida.
Son, Michael (Nancy) Melvin of Leo, Indiana
Daughter, Laurene (Dudley) Fowler of Kihei, Hawaii.
Daugther, LAura (Bill) Moeller of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
14 Grandchildren.
18 Great-grandchildren.
Sister, Lois Talbot of Napoleonville, Louisiana.

Mary was preceded in death by 2 sons, Alton and Gerard Theriot;  sister, Camille Barbier; and  brother, Francis Barbier.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46825 with calling from 9:30am-11:00am.
Burial will take place at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be directed to Susan G. Komen for the cure and or Riley's Children Hospital.
