Gary Ray Carr

Gary Ray Carr, age 75, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Genesis New Haven Care Center.  Mr. Carr was born on July 21, 1941, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Carl and Bertha (Bessel) Carr.  He graduated from Austinburg High School in Austinburg, Ohio.  He served his country honorably with the United States Army.  Gary worked as a tooling supply engineer.  His career started with 22 years at Rockwell International, then he worked for Meridian for 5 years, then finished at Eagle Pitcher after 16 years of service.  Gary belonged to the Navy Club in New Haven and the American Legion in Roanoke.  He loved to play cards including poker and texas holdem.  Gary was a family man and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include:
Daughter, Paula E. and Todd Bennett of Monroeville.
Daughter, Carrie and Scott Hambleton of Angola.
Son, Chris Stevens of Dorset, Ohio.
Mother of his children, Jane (Dave) Linker of Hoagland.
Grandchildren, Cory Carr, Cassie Carr, Carissa Martin, Colton Martin, Ashley Bennett, Jacob Hambleton, Ryan Hambleton, Jenna Stevens, Christopher Stevens, Ashlyn Wolfe,  James Webber, and Daniel Stevens
10 Great-grandchildren.
Sister, Carol Zee of Phoenix, Arizona.
Sister, Sandra and Chris Pizzi of Phoenix, Arizona.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, son; Carl "Chip" Carr, and daughter; Tracy Carr.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 3:00pm with calling two-hours prior from 1:00-3:00pm at Hoagland Community Church, 11104 Hoagland Road, Hoagland, Indiana 46745.
Officiating the memorial service will be Pastor Todd Buckmaster.
Burial will take place at a later date in July at Greenlawn Cemetery in North Kingsville, Ohio.
Memorial donations may be directed to Fort Wayne Animal Care and Disabled Veterans.
