Everette Smith Obituary

Everette Vester Smith, age 71, of Defiance, Ohio, died Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at home.  Mr. Smith was born June 28, 1947 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late Bud and Daisy Kathleen (Vining) Smith. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, 5 years active duty and 19 years of honorable service in the Tennessee National Guard. Everette was an auto mechanic for 15 years and worked at Defiance Metal Products for 9 years before retiring in 2009. He married Alice Christine Buell on March 30, 1999 and attended Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include:
Wife, Christine Smith of Defiance.
Daughter, Cristal and Larry Smith of Richmond, Indiana.
Son, Curtis Smith of Pierceton, Indiana.
Daughter, Brandy Smith of Jamestown, Tennessee.
Step son, Kevin and Rene Kilgore of Ney, Ohio.
Step son, Keith and Jandera Kilgore of Oakwood, Ohio.
Step daughter, Katrina and Ben Gunderman of Mooreville, Indiana.
9 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
Sister, Dixie and Arthur Miller of Defiance, Ohio.
Brother, Jack Smith of Paulding, Ohio.
Sister, Della and Denny Woodering of Cecil, Ohio.
Brother, Leonard and Tami Smith of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Sister, Patricia and John Rose of Oakwood, Ohio. Sister, Bernice and Larry Meadows of Paulding, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church, Road 111, Defiance, Ohio. Officiating the funeral will be Rev. Denny Hunter.
Visitation will be Thursday prior to the service from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the church.
Burial with military honors will take place at Rochester Cemetery.
