Donald Earl Westerman

Donald Earl Westerman, age 89, died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at The Cedars Retirement Home, Leo, Indiana.  Mr. Westerman was born May 13, 1928 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late William Carl Westerman and Esther (Adams) Westerman.  He graduated from Concordia High School and entered into the United States Army where he honorably served his country during World War II.  He married Alexena Deloris Baird on October 23, 1954 in Fort Wayne and she preceded him in death in February of 1999.  Don was employed with International Harvester in Fort Wayne for 22 years before retiring in 1980.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 296 and the 40 & 8 of Fort Wayne. 

Survivors include:
Son, Guy and Elena Westerman of Leo.
Son, Todd Westerman of Indianapolis.
Three grandchildren: Kirsten Westerman, Clayton Westerman, and Lauren Westerman.
Brother, Jerry and Vera Westerman of Tucson, Arizona.
Sister, Mary and Rex Shuman of Fort Wayne.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine Robison and Dorothy Reichardt; and two brothers, William Westerman and Robert Westerman.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Cedar Creek Church, 12606 Leo Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46845.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
Burial with military honors will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to the Gateway Children’s Home.
