Donald Gordon Coatney

Donald Gordon Coatney, age 72, of Fort Wayne, passed away Monday, December 2, 2019 at home.  Mr. Coatney was born in Columbus, Indiana on June 29, 1947 to the late Albert and Juanita (Kent) Coatney.  He graduated from Van Wert High School in 1965 and entered into the United States Army where he honorably served his country for two years during the Vietnam War.  He married Elisa Landi Goodroe on May 14, 1982.  Don was a member of the American Legion Post 47 in Fort Wayne.  He was employed for many years as a maintenance engineer in the food industry as well as G&D Inc.

Survivors include:
Wife, Lisa Coatney of Fort Wayne.
Son, Matt and Laura Landis of Buffalo, New York.
Son, Luke and Stacy Landis of Fort Wayne.
Six grandchildren: Kole Landis, Kaitlyn Landis, Lila Landis, Ki Landis, Mason Landis, and Hadlee Landis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Alice Elaine Coatney.

A celebration of life gathering will be scheduled at a later date and held at the American Legion Post 47, 601 Reed Road, Fort Wayne. Military honors and niche entombment will take place later at Marion National Cemetery.
