Your Mother was instrumental in starting my family on the road to hosting exchange students for 15 years. From that short summer stay to 10 months at a time. Thank you. She and your Father would come into Cinema Center and they were always gracious.

De Klocke was a valuable member of the Fort Wayne Sister Cities Board for many years. I was privileged to teach in the same school with her for a short time and saw her talents in interacting with students and faculty and she was always kind and caring. We will miss her and her dear husband, Ed Klocke.

De Klocke was the most wonderful person I met while I was an exchange student from Brazil, in North Side High School in 1976/77. Indeed she made my life a memory to remember. Her kindness, and soft talk is always present in my mind, always trying to give a solution to any matter concerning us, students, in any level. I am very pleased I had a chance to dine with her and Ed in 2011 while visiting my host family in Fort Wayne. I hope her family can feel very special to have such a person among them. She was truly a jewel. May you rest in peace De. You made wonderful things, and left wonderful memories.

I remember Mrs. Klocke well, she was one of the very few at Northside that didn't give up on me. I was a very troubled child with no love for school or life itself and Mrs. Klocke went out of her way to try and get through to me. Had it not been for her, I doubt I would be here today. A wonderful lady with huge heart. I never got to tell her so but thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in me when no one else did.

Mrs. Klocke was a true friend during some difficult teenage years. She influenced my life in quite a few very positive ways, both as a counselor as I struggled with depression and in helping my family host foreign students and helping me to be one. I could never forget her and I owe her debt that could never be repaid. She will be remembered and loved forever by many.

She believed good things about me, expected good outcomes and made that clear to me in a 100% positive way. She encouraged me. And she used to drop my sister off in her Jaguar, very cool.

I was honored to be Mrs. Klocke's student personal assistant my senior year at Northside HS. She was boundlessly energetic, a strong student advocate and always ready to help any student in need. She was instrumental in personally helping me find my professional career path for which I am most grateful.

Dear Mrs. Klocke's family, I am so sorry for your loss, Mrs. Klocke was a life saver to me and many students at North Side High School. I'm from the class of '86 and without her I'm not sure I would have made it through my junior year! She made me feel safe and let me know life would be okay after the death of my dad! She also had a HUGE impact on our family by introducing us to new friends from France, Japan and Finland, yes we were a host family! My heart is sad hearing this news but the memories of her have put a smile on my face. The world needs more Mrs. Klockes! May you find peace in her memories! With love, Jenny

Mrs. Klocke (she will always be Mrs. Klocke) and Ed were great people. Ed wss my chaperone on the band and swing choir trip to Japan. Ed's group went to the Klocke's house a few times before the trip to get to know each other and talk about the upcoming trip. They were two wonderful human beings. Even though they were "older", they were very in tune with what was going on in our world. On a side note, I remember they both drove matching BMW's. I thought that was so cool. R.I.P Mrs. Klocke.

Mrs. Klocke was a wonderful guidance counselor. I went to see her several years after I graduated high school and she helped me find the right career. I love what I do and would not be doing it without her help. She was a wonderful and lovely woman.

Mrs. Klocke was my biggest mentor. I was a 1986 graduate of Northside High School. I believe that Mrs. Klocke may have saved my life. She believed in me, encouraged me and she supported me. I loved her very much. She always had time to talk to me and help me sort through life's troubles as a teenager. May you soar with the angels Mrs. Klocke.

Mrs Klocke was an absolutely wonderful person; someone I've never forgotten. She provided more guidance, support and inspiration to me than any individual outside of my family.
I suffered the loss of my mother during high school at North Side, and this exceptional counselor assisted me through those rough times. She enabled me stay focused. She helped me achieve admittance to and graduation from the University of Michigan. Mrs. Klocke was a truly inspirational person. I am very grateful to have known her and been blessed to have been one of her students.

Both of my kids graduated from North Side and we hosted 3 students; a sister and brother at different times. A typical teen once she got home from her year with us, whenever; she got into an argument with her parents she would call me and want to come back and live here. We are still in contact with them today, in fact; she has been to visit us 4 times over the years and had her 12yo daughter stay with us last summer. We will be eternally greatful to De..The Simmons Family
