Charlcia Ann Curtis, age 71, of Muncie, Indiana sailed into heaven Wednesday, January 24,
2018 surrounded by friends and family. Ann was born May 6, 1946 in New Castle, Indiana to the
late Wayne and Georgia (Carmichael) Thornburg. She graduated from Center High School and
continued her education at Ball State University. She loved music and was a gifted professional
pianist, playing around the world for choirs, schools, professional touring groups, weddings,
funerals and friends. She served as pianist at Parker City United Methodist Church, Mentone
Christ Fellowship and Clear Creek Congregational Christian Church. She taught piano at Muncie
Music Center and in her home throughout her life. Spending time with and helping her family,
especially her grand and great grandchildren brought joy to her heart. She also enjoyed growing
beautiful flowers in her many flower gardens, reading, cooking, canning homegrown vegetables,
and talking on the phone with friends or over iced tea around her kitchen table. One of her most
charming qualities was her natural ability to make everyone feel important and loved. She was a
gift to this world and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by stepmother, Mary Thornburg, brother,
Rev. C. Michael Thornburg, and daughter Rebekah Kathleen.
Survivors include: Her husband of 42 years, Steven, children, Amy (Bill) Clevenger, Thomas
