Billy Eugene York

Billy Eugene York, age 84, a resident of Gas City, Indiana for the past 40 years, died September 20, 2019 at home.  Mr. York was born in Piney Woods, Clinton County, Kentucky on April 1, 1935 to the late Marvin and Sassie Pearl (Clark) York.  He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was retired from the military and Fisher Body. Billy attended church most Sundays and Wednesday evenings.  He was an active member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed having company over to talk, working in his yard and garden and eating.  He would always start his day with a prayer and reading his Bible. 

Survivors include:
Son, Gene and Connie York of Marion.
Four grandchildren: Christopher and Sarah York, Justin Heiny, Nicholas and Lacey York and Christina and Eddy Schwartz. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren.
Sister, Doris and Don Hicks of Tennessee. 
He was preceded in death by a son, James Raymond York.  

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Christian Bible Church, 2927 East Monroe Pike, Marion, Indiana with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 PM.  Burial with military honors will take place Marion National Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
