RUTH L. “MITZI” HOEPPNER, age 87, of Fort Wayne, peacefully joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, June 11, 2010 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Hoeppner was born in DeKalb County, Indiana on May 11, 1923 to the late Vernon and Ruth (Chapman) Horn.
She married her husband of 66 years, Gilbert C. Hoeppner on June 28, 1942 in Woodburn.
Gilbert preceded her death just last year on June 9, 2009.
Mitzi was a homemaker and an active member of Promise Ministries in Fort Wayne. Along with her husband, Gilbert, they lead a small group Bible study and she folded the church bulletin each week for Sunday morning worship services.
Mitzi played cards with the same group of women each month for more than 30 years.
she was a loving and caring mother to her children.

Son, Dennis Hoeppner of Nashville, Tennessee.
Son, Michael and Linda Hoeppner of Fort Wayne.
Son, Jeffrey and Cheryl Hoeppner of Fort Wayne.
Son, Philip Hoeppner of Nashville.
Daughter, Lucinda "Cindy" Hartman of Fort Wayne.
13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Brother, Leo Horn of Harlan.
Brother, Jim and Lois Horn of Leo.
Many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Bollier, Joan Scott, Betty Snyder and Bonnie Knox.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 15, 2010, from 2-5:00 & 7-9:00pm at Promise Ministries,7323 Schwartz Road in Fort Wayne.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 11:00am at Promise Ministries Fort Wayne.
There will be an hour of visitation before the service on Wednesday.
Burial will be at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery in Fort Wayne following the funeral service.
