Dear Hazel,
Since I know you can read this I wanted to share a few thoughts with you and your family. I have had the great honor of being your cardiologist for nearly 30 years. You are a very special person. There always was a special gentleness about you but at the same time you showed me great strength. You have left me a better person and a better doctor. You have fought a valiant fight on this earth and now you get to rest in God's arms. I'm going to miss you.
Love you, Dave Kaminskas

Dear Hazel,

We met as coworkers many years ago and soon became close friends. You have always been such a classy lady. Other strong qualities that come to my mind are independant, gracious and most of all kind. Rest in peace sweet Hazel. My sincere sympathy to your family.

Love,
Debbie (Jones) Berning

Not only were you my Mom you have always been my best friend. I dont know how I am going to get through life without you there to support me. I know that you have been in alot of pain in the last few years but you kept holding on cuz you knew how much we all needed you. I hope the pain has ended and you are celebrating in heaven with Dad and Richard and all your other family members and friends. I love you Mom and I long to be with you again. You will always be in my heart and I know that you will be looking down on me and guiding me through life. Thank you for everything you have done for this family until we meet again. Love you!

To Hazel''s family
Years ago I was a CPS caseworker at the Welfare Department. Hazel was such a calming and encouraging influence in such a stressful work environment. I so appreciated her, and shudder to think how much worse it would have been without her! She often bought us her wonderful carrot cake. I have her recipe, which she typed on an index card. I think of her each time I make that cake. My daughter is making it this year, so her recipe has become a tradition in our family. Rest in peace, Hazel.

Hazel was one of the most kind, generous and loving neighbors we have every met. She was one of the first to make us feel welcome when when we moved to Fort Wayne 17 years ago. She was always there with a smile and encouraging word whenever we tried to put new flowers & plants and weren''t exactly sure what we were doing. Karen spent many times sitting with her on her swing during the spring & summer talking about everything and anything. Our thoughts and prayers are with all her family. We will think of her every time our tulips bloom in the backyard. She told us she loved seeing them from her kitchen window. She is missed.

Mom,

You will be so missed by so many!!! Hard to imagine that the glue that held this family together through thick and thin is gone. I guess this is where we step up to the plate and take over, creating our own glue to keep the people you held dear close. It is an enormous job, but you taught us well!!! We will try to do you proud and when you look down on us, you will smile, laugh, and probably shake that finger at us again!!!! You were my mother-in-law and my friend and I will always remember you and my Mom supporting me through Dave''s surgeries with donut holes and IPAD bowling!! Love you forever!!! Linda
