GARL E. PENROD, age 88, of Columbia City, Indiana died on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at his Columbia City residence.
Mr. Penrod was born in Van Buren, Indiana on July 9, 1921 to the late Charles F. and Josephine (Stolder) Penrod.
He served his country in the United States Navy for seven years during WWII.
He married Donna Greenlee on March 10, 1941 in Gas City, Indiana. Mrs. Penrod survives in Columbia City.
Mr. Penrod sold cookware for several different companies for many years retiring in 1985.
He was an active member of the New Hope Wesleyn Church in Columbia City, Indiana.
Mr. Penrod enjoyed fishing, gardening and landscaping. He also loved to spend time with his wife and family.

Two daughers; Glenda Walter of White Pigeon, Michigan and Beverly and Tom Voland of Noble County, Indiana.
Six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 13, 2010 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the VA Chapel in the VA Medical Center located at 1700 East 38th Street in Marion Indiana.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the VA Chapel in the VA Medical Center.
Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Barry Faucett.
Burial will be at Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Marion National Cemetery in Marion.
Preferred Memorials may be made to Parkview Hospice.
