RICHARD GEORGE KOPP, age 63, of Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mr. Kopp was born in Centreville, Michigan on November 24, 1948 to the late George and Irene (Jablinski) Kopp. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1967-1969. Richard was retired from Sturgis Iron & Metal of Sturgis, Michigan after 18 years. Before that, he worked 13 years at Sturgis Foundry.
Survivors include:
Son, Chris and Pam Kopp of Elkhart.
Son, Jeff and Lisa Kopp of Fort Wayne.
Grandchildren, Jeffrey Kopp,II and Cassie Gibson of Fort Wayne; Bobby and Christopher Kopp of Elkhart.
Great-granddaughter, Caszandra Gibson.
Sister, Diane and Lonny Johnson of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Sister, Patricia Byers of Kalamazoo.
Nieces, Vickie Chenelle, Donna, Velma, Lori, Linda and Amy.
He was also preceded in death by parents his ex-wife and mother of his sons, Audrey Jean (Keller) Kopp, who passed away June 12, 1997 in Centreville, Michigan; and his brother, John Jablinski.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
