MICHAEL STEPHEN WALKER, age 64, of Fort Wayne, died on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at home. Mr. Walker was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on April 17, 1950 to the late Jack M. Walker and Almeda E. (Prout) Walker. He graduated from Northside High School in 1968 and married Darlene Kaye Knepper on May 16, 1970. Mike started his working career as a journeyman brick mason for his first 5 years. Later he began driving a semi truck and he was a long haul truck driver and employed with Knepper-Cartage. He drove four million, accident free miles over a 32 year truck driving career. He was an active member of the Grace Point Church of the Narazene in Fort Wayne. Mike loved fishing, cooking, spending time with his grandkids. He was a simple, big hearted man who loved his family and enjoyed taking them on vacations. He loved teaching his grandkids to fish and drive a car.
Survivors include:
Wife, Darlene Walker of Fort Wayne.
Daughter, Kimm Allen of Fort Wayne.
Daughter, Jamie and Todd Jackson of Fort Wayne.
Five grandchildren: Miranda and Mason Allen, Jacob, Landin, and Easton Jackson
Brother, Allen and Laura Walker of Ludlow, Illinois. Step sister, Jackie Wilson of Cabot, Arkansas.
Visitation will be Friday from 3:00-7:00pm at Grace Point Church of the Narazene in Fort Wayne.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00am at Grace Point Church. There will calling from 10:00am until service time.
Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Rex Person.
Burial will be at Concordia Cemetery Gardens in Fort Wayne.
Preferred memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Riley Hospital for Children.
