Linda K. (Sauers) Wheaton

Linda K. Wheaton, age 67, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at her residence.  Mrs. Wheaton was born on November 21, 1949 in Decatur, Indiana to Wayne and Kate (Zerkel) Sauers.  In 1967, Linda graduated from Adam Central High School in Monroe, Indiana.  She then continued her education at Purdue University, where she earned a degree in nursing.  On September 8, 1990, she married Mark Wheaton at the Lutheran Hospital Chapel in Fort Wayne.  Linda worked as Registered Nurse for several places including Lutheran Hospital, Your Friends and Neighbors, State School, and helped teach medical assisting and phlebotomy at Parkview Hospital.  She retired from Canterbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne as Director of Education Services.  Linda belonged the Bethel United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne.  She enjoyed knitting, cross stitching, golfing, jewelry making, and various crafts.  She was an allstar video game master and loved spending time with her family and dear friends.

Husband, Mark Wheaton of Fort Wayne.
Son, Zachary Wheaton of Fort Wayne.
Father, Wayne Sauers of Bluffton.
Brother, Michael Sauers of Fort Wayne.
Sister, Patty Sikora of Fort Wayne.
Brother, Mark and Lauri Sauers of Bluffton.
Sister, Jennie and Tony Williams of Fort Wayne.
Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Bethel United Methodist Church, 8405 Lima Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46818.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 11:00am with calling one-hour prior from 10:00am-11:00am at Bethel United Methodist Church.
Burial will take place at Highland Park Cemetery.
Officiating the funeral services is Pastor Mona Safley.
Memorial donations may be directed to Allen County Cancer Society or to the Wheaton Family.
