James “Jim” Keith Norris, age 81, died Saturday, March 14, 2015 after suffering congestive heart failure which he had for several years. Mr. Norris was born December 15, 1933 in Fort Recovery Ohio.
Before moving to Fort Wayne, Jim operated his own feed and grain elevator for seven years in Kewanna Indiana. When he moved to Fort Wayne in 1972 and established Bacon-Norris Realty, a real estate sales and management company. He owned and operated Country Cooking, a country-style sandwich shop, located at the Southtown Mall. He also owned and operated the Appalachian Country Store, and owned and managed rental properties.
Jim enjoyed his family, a good joke, reading his favorite book, the Bible, and occasional fishing. He was marked by an incredibly strong family, marriage and faith.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jewel E. Norris.
Four children, Lonnie R. (Connie) Norris of Albion; Connie J. (Larry) Sheets of Bluffton; Timothy J. (Kristi) Norris Huntertown; and Kimberly L. (Rodney) Penrod of Fort Wayne.
19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He also has two brothers, Richard Norris and Samuel Norris; and one sister, Shirley Blocker.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Norris and Alfred Norris; and two sisters, Martha Norris and Joan Hartley.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00-8:00pm at Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, 8611 Mayhew Road, Fort Wayne. Visitation will also be one hour before the service at 9:00am on Wednesday.
Funeral services will by Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 10:00am at Grace Point Church with one hour of calling before the service. Pastor Rex Person will officiate the service.
Burial will take place at Leo Memorial Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to Gideons International, Fort Wayne. Envelopes will be available at the church.
