Herbert Karl Wiegmann

HERBERT KARL WIEGMANN, age 83, of New Haven died on Monday, August 31, 2015 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Wiegmann was born in Fort Wayne on April 14, 1932 to Herman and Anna (Bleeke) Wiegmann.

He honorably served his country in the United States Army as an Army Ranger during the Korean War.  After his time in the Army he served in the Army National Guard Reserves, Fort Wayne for 17 years.  Mr. Wiegmann was very proud of his military service.  He was a 56 year member of the New Haven American Legion #330 where he was a past commander and served on the color guard.  He was also a member and past commander of the Voiture 40 & 8 in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Wiegmann loved his family.  His greatest pleasure in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include:

Daughter; Jean and Jerry Click of Fort Wayne.
Daughter; Diane Atkison of Phoenix, Arizona.
Eight grandchildren; Joshua Rollins, Brittany Wiegmann, Gary Goldsberry, Jamie Jurju, Joshua Atkison, Chrissa Atkison, Heather Click and Christine Ammon.
Eight great grandchildren.
Sister; Hilda Volmerding of Fort Wayne.
Sister; Betty LaFever of Angola.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 7, 2015  at Emmanuel Lutheran Church Soest, 9909 Wayne Trace, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Military honors will be provided by New Haven American Legion Post #330 and active duty .
