Heather DeAnn (Howie) Ensign

Heather DeAnn (Howie) Ensign, age 42, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at her residence.  Mrs. Ensign was born on October 17, 1975, in Canton, Illinois to Charles and Marilyn (Calvert) Howie.  She graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1994.  On August 10, 1996, Heather married Michael Ensign at the Lake Avenue Church of the Nazarene in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  In 2005, she obtained her associate degree in music at Taylor University in Fort Wayne. Heather loved music and taught a community children’s piano class at Taylor University as well as lessons to private students. She and her family are members of Grace Point Church of the Nazarene in Fort Wayne where she was a keyboardist for the Grace Point Orchestra.  She directed Preschool Praise at the church also. She was affiliated with the Elmhurst Alumni group. She also enjoyed organizing mom's groups and part of BSF.  But  her love for music was never ending.  She enjoyed playing the piano, keyboard, and guitar.  She was a "Domestic Engineer" and filled her role of Mom to the utmost degree for her 3 children.

Spouse, Michael Ensign of Fort Wayne.
Children, Caleb, Jacob, and Alyssian  Ensign of Fort Wayne.
Parents, Charles and Marilyn Howie of Fort Wayne.
Mother-in-law, Diane Ensign of Hicksville, Ohio.
Brother, Chris (Martha) Howie of Dimondale, Michigan.
Brother, Stephen (Cheryl) Howie of Leo.
Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, 8611 Mayhew Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46835.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:00am with calling one-hour prior from 10:00am-11:00am.
Burial will take place at Leo Cemetery.
