Geraldine "Jinx" (Krempel) Murphy

Geraldine "Jinx" Murphy, age 86, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Parkview Randalia in Fort Wayne.  Mrs. Murphy was born on September 5, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois to the late John and Emily (Kowitz) Krempel.  After graduating from High School in Chicago, Geraldine married the love of her life, Robert W. Murphy at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Fort Wayne.  Together they were married for over 55 years and Robert preceded her in death in 2012.  In 1996, Geraldine retired from Container Corporation as a printer, after 40 years of service.  She was a member of the Women's Auxillary at the VFW in Fort Wayne.  Geraldine loved to ice skate and bowl in various leagues.  She was an avid I.U. basketball, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Bulls fan.  
Survivors include:
Son, Patrick and Jeanne Murphy of Fort Wayne.
Grandson, Michael Murphy of Fort Wayne.
Grandson, Nicholas Murphy of Fort Wayne.
Grandson, Kyle Murphy of Fort Wayne.
Step-grandson, Matthew Gilbert of California.
Brother, Russ and Joanne Krempel of Fort Wayne.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, brother; John Krempel, and sister-in-law, Joyce Krempel.

Private family services per the wishes of Geraldine will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations may be directed to Parkview Hospice or Canterbury Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.
