Eloisa "Pat" McKee

Eloisa "Pat" McKee, 94, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home. She graduated from South Side High School and attended Fort Wayne Art School. She lived in New York City most of her adult life and retired from The Lighthouse for the Blind--the institution of education and reorientation of the blind. Pat was innovative in her career and was recognized for her creativity. For example, she acquired a large number of tandem bicycles for blind teenagers who had never ridden a bicycle before. These were piloted by volunteers who rode with their delighted passengers throughout Central Park.  Pat met many celebrities during her career and enjoyed the Arts of NYC. She was an Elder of Central Presbyterian Church in New York. Pat returned to Fort Wayne in 2009 and resided at Covington Commons.

Survivors include her nieces Sara (Ralph) Long of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Rhea ( Dr. Hugh) Glidewell, Sondra( Roger) Glidewell, and nephew, Dr. R. Dale (Marilyn) McKee all of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her parents, E. Lloyd and Florence McKee, and her brothers, Ralph and Roy McKee. Memorial donations may be given to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, 5910 Homestead Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46814. Arrangements by Northern Indiana Funeral Care of Fort Wayne.
