Elizabeth "Betsy" Ann (Lantz) Pelis

Elizabeth Ann Pelis or “Betsy Lantz”, age 64, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at her residence.  Mrs. Pelis was born on December 11, 1951 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Herbert Lantz and Elizabeth (Millhouse) Lantz.  She graduated from South Side High School in Fort Wayne and then went on to graduate from Memorial School of Nursing in South Bend.   After graduating, she continued her education and obtained a bachelor degree from Purdue University in nursing.  She then obtained her master’s degree in education from Indiana University.  Betzy then received her final degree with a master’s in nursing at the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne.  She worked all her life within the nursing industry and worked at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for over 20 years.  Betsy was a curriculum coordinator at Lutheran College in Fort Wayne and then went to work as a nurse at the V. A. Hospital in Fort Wayne.  She loved to spend time with her kids and grandkids, was an avid I.U. basketball fan and was passionate about taking care of others. 

Survivors include:
Husband, Jeffrey Pelis of Fort Wayne.
Son, Daniel and Andrea Pelis of Woodburn.
Son, David Pelis of Rockford, Illinois.
Granddaughter, Laural Pelis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Grandson, Ryan Pelis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Grandson, Chad Pelis of Woodburn.
Grandaughter, Madi Pelis of Woodburn. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 2-6:00 pm at Martini Lutheran Church, 333 Moeller Road, New Haven, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior at Martini Lutheran Church.
Burial will take place at Falls Cemetery in Wabash.    
Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Jim Teasdale.
In lieu of flowers the family requests hugs and kisses and memorial contributions may be directed to Martini Lutheran Church.
