Arturo Saldivar

Arturo “Art” Saldivar, Sr., age 69, of Pierceton, Indiana, died Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester, Indiana.  Mr. Saldivar was born on October 12, 1948 in Snyder, Texas to the late Rodolfo Saldivar, Sr. and Piedad (Rodriguez) Saldivar.  He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1970-71 and earned an engineering degree in electronics and robotics from ITT Technical Institute in Fort Wayne. He was married to Diane M. Dielmann on May 12, 1984 in Sterling, Illinois.  Art retired from Zenith Corporation in Glenview, Illinois in 1998.  He continued working and was employed with U.S.S.I. of Columbia City and Zimmer Biomet of Warsaw.  He was a member and deacon of the Pierceton Presbyterian Church; member of the Pierceton American Legion Post 258; A.E.P.I. Fraternity of ITT; and member of the National Honor Society.

Survivors include:
Wife, Diane Saldivar of Pierceton.
Son, Phillip Saldivar of Columbia City.
Son, Arthur Carl (Leah) Saldivar, Jr. of Huntington, Indiana.
Daughter, Jennifer (Thomas, Jr.) Hylton of Delphi, Indiana.
Eight grandchildren.
Brother, Rudolph “Rudy” Saldivar, Jr. of Indianapolis.
Brother, Ernesto "Ernie" Saldivar of Warsaw.
Sister, Ophelia “Micki” Schofner of Florida.
Sister, Ernestina “Tina” Cantu of Sterling, Illinois.
Sister, San Juanita “Jane” Saldivar of Rock Falls, Illinois.

Memorial services and military honors will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 2:00pm at the Pierceton Presbyterian Church, 309 South First Street, Pierceton, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pierceton Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 345, Pierceton, Indiana 46562.
